day 9: the town/kingdom you wish you lived in
Hands down, the Kingdom of Corona is my favorite. I saw Tangled on opening day twice and I absolutely fell in love with the ‘Kingdom Dance’ scene. Not only was it visually stunning, but the music captured the spirit of the kingdom so well.
With Finding Nemo 3D coming out in just a week, I thought it’d be best to change my theme. The new look celebrates the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage from Disneyland. This happens to be my third favorite attraction at Disneyland (with Pirates of the Caribbean being first and It’s a Small World second). The original Submarine Voyage opened up in 1959 on the same day as both the Matterhorn and Monorail. When the ride closed in 1998, there were plans to actually re-theme it as an Atlantis attraction in 2003. Instead Finding Nemo took its place and reopened in 2007. Guests hop aboard a yellow submarine for a whimsical voyage under the sea with Nemo and friends. You’ll see volcanoes, sharks, jellyfish, and even a whale. Since a portion of the ride takes place outside, it’s fun to ride in the day and night for different experiences.
